Tripp was born in Columbia, South Carolina, but moved to Atlanta, Georgia 8 years ago. He graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration. He has been on several 'Top 5' Georgia originators lists for Countrywide and was recognized as top builder originator for 2005/2006.

Tripp joined LoanSouth Mortgage as Senior Mortgage Banker in September 2008 bringing his enthusiasm, know-how, and charisma to clientele. He enjoys outdoor sports, in particular playing golf. He and his wife Lindsay reside in Sandy Springs, Georgia and are expecting their first child, a daughter, in December 2008.
